How is stroke rate calculated?

Stroke rate measures the duration of a single stroke cycle, averaged over all of the stroke cycles in the length. For freestyle and backstroke, a stroke cycle is the average duration of two strokes (the time taken from the right hand entering the water until the right hand enters the water again). For breast and butterfly, it is simply the average duration of all strokes in the length.

The stroke rate metric is available to Silver and Gold level profiles.
